Summary

Cetechs, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, is seeking CT Technologist to join our team of radiologic professionals.  Shifts are scheduled seven days a week to include day, evening, night, eight-, ten- and twelve-hours. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Computed Tomography of the head, neck, spine, chest, extremities, vascular system and body. 
  • Independently operates radiographic equipment to perform a variety of complex diagnostic radiographic exams.
  • Performs Quality Control procedures, with supervision, which may include (but not limited to) the following: Reject/repeat image analysis, Lead apron & glove radiation verification.
  • Set up radiographic suites and assure that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment and supplies are present and available.
  • Prepare and administer contrast material orally, by enema, or intravenously under close supervision of radiologist(s), but not independently as required.
  • Perform related clerical duties such as sending images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), archiving images, post processing images, and case editing of computer request and reports.
  • As required, will also maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology Vista Package, and the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
  • Practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients and staff while applying elements of the As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) Principle. This is including appropriate use of lead aprons, lead gloves, lead shields, collimation, and distance management. Film badges are worn by the radiographer to assure compliance to radiation regulations.
  • Interviews patient obtaining pertinent medical history and precise medication usage as it pertains to the examination being performed. Explains to patients the rationale of procedures and instructions on how to complete the procedure.
  • Identifies patient in accordance with VA policy, confirms identity on order, properly identifies patient images and utilizes L(eft) and R(ight) markers. This is essential so that mistaken identity of images to patients does not occur.
  • Identifies system errors and work with the Supervisor, Assistant Chief Tech and BioMed department to facilitate the effective and timely service of radiographic equipment.
  • Maintains electronic records and files of exams performed on patients.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have a current and valid ARRT certification in Computed Tomography.
  • Must be certified and licensed by the State of California in radiography and fluoroscopy.
  • Active BLS Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within the last 3 years in specialized modality.
  • Must have demonstrated experience starting Intravenous (IV) and performing contract injections. IV certification is required.
  • Provide proof of Health Record as required.
